In-home Euthanasia Service
When our Veterinarian arrives at your home, they will explain the process, and answer any questions that you may have. They will also give you an idea of what to expect during the visit. Every patient is different and how they respond to the medications may vary. Our Veterinarian will do their best to ensure that both you and your pet are comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire visit.
All pets will receive sedation as part of the process to minimize any pain that they may have and to ensure that they are most at ease for the transition. As every pet is unique, the process of euthanasia varies for each pet. Our Veterinarian will walk you through the steps to ensure that you understand and are comfortable with each one.
Euthanasia appointments are scheduled with enough time to avoid the need to rush. We are scheduling daytime, evenings and weekends. Appointments can be prearranged for outside of regular business hours if this works better for you and your schedule. We understand and will do our best to accommodate your needs on short notice.
Aftercare options include home burial (where appropriate), communal cremation and private cremation.

In-home Quality of Life Consultation
Have you started to ask yourself questions like “How do I know when it is time..” or “When do we know..”? Trying to decide when the time is right for euthanasia is agonizing. It is natural to struggle with such and emotionally painful… and final decision.
Our quality of life consultation is designed to help you answer these questions as well as to determine if there are medications or treatment options that may be available to help your pet live more comfortably. There are many factors to consider when determining if it is indeed time to say goodbye. Our Veterinarian will help you to evaluate your pet’s quality of life by discussing energy level, mobility/pain level, appetite as well as a number of other aspects that define their physical and emotional well-being.
Our Veterinarian may speak with your family Veterinarian or request your pet’s medical records to better understand the specific needs and challenges for your pet.

We have partnered with Gateway Pet Memorial (located in Guelph, Ontario) for both cremation services and aftercare products. Together, we ensure that your pet is treated with the utmost dignity and respect throughout the aftercare process.

Private Cremation
Your beloved pet will be the only pet in the cremation chamber to ensure that you receive only the cremated remains of your pet. Their cremated remains will be delivered to your family Veterinary clinic or your home in a scatter tube, silk pouch, keepsake, or urn of your choice.
Communal Cremation
Your beloved pet is cremated with other pets. Their cremated remains are not returned to you but are taken to the Sandy Ridge Pet Cemetery in Eden, Ontario.
As no cremated remains are returned to you when you choose communal cremation, you may wish to consider a paw print or other memorial product that does not hold remains as a remembrance.
Home Burial
Each municipality has their own by-laws and legislation regarding home burial. Please contact your city/township office for more details. Additionally, you must own the property or have the property owners permission before burying your pet.
For more information please do not hesitate to call or contact us.
