MacKenzie Creek Mobile Pet Hospice Services was founded on the ideals of compassion and choice.
During the heart-breaking decisions surrounding end of life care for your pet, we work with compassion to provide you and your beloved pet respect, dignity and support.
In making final moments you share with your pet as comforting, safe and as private as possible, we offer choice. Does your pet have a favorite safe haven in your home? Spot on the couch? Or, corner of the deck in the yard?
We are dedicated to providing quality care for your pet in their final moments and their favorite place, in the safety, privacy and comfort of your home.
Meet Dr. Katherine
I have been working in the Veterinary world in one capacity or another for over 20 years. After working as a Veterinary Technician in the London area for a number of years, I decided to pursue my dream, expand my knowledge base and applied to the Veterinary program at the University of Guelph. Working as a Veterinary Technician at the Ontario Veterinary College throughout my undergraduate degree and throughout veterinary school, I was able to explore many exciting facets of Veterinary medicine. After graduation from the Ontario Veterinary College, I worked in both private practice and emergency medicine settings. Throughout the years, as both a Veterinary Technician and as a Veterinarian, I have dedicated myself to providing both owners and their aged or terminally ill pets with dignity and compassionate care as they prepare to, and ultimately say their final good-byes.
My husband and I live with (… and for) our very rambunctious dog Wylie. Wy, as he is known to friends, was a rescue who now lives his best life despite a recent diagnosis with lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system). Being both a pet-mom and a Veterinarian, Wy’s diagnosis and subsequent treatments have reinforced my focus on the importance of quality end of life care for both owners and their pets. The multitude of challenges and the massive ranges of emotions surrounding terminal illness in our pets is enormously overwhelming. Fortunately, Wy is unaware and clinically unaffected by his illness. Additionally, his insatiable love for “the whiz” makes his daily medications a yummy cheese covered treat!
In my spare time, I love to collect succulents of all shapes and sizes as well as to work on fused and stained-glass projects.
Additional Team Members
On occasion, an additional team member may join me. Rest assured, they are professional, well-skilled and compassionate. Our team is dedicated to ensure the best possible in-home experience for both you and your beloved pet.
